Interestingly after the successful ad-free promotion on its 10th birthday, now Opera Browser is turned into a FREE version: http://www.opera.com/

It has built-in RSS features, and supports Java. I would say it is definitely faster than Firefox. However, some websites are not designed for Opera, so be prepared to see difference.
